Try using a folded tea towel instead.
The flexibility of the bamboo and silicone allows the layered ingredients to be rolled easily.
When i use a tea towel i start my roll with the same setup as i would for a bamboo mat.
We used a clean kitchen towel for rolling.
The home cook who does not have specialty sushi making supplies at his or her disposal must find an alternative means of holding the ingredients together to make a sushi roll.
You can still make sushi rolls even you don t have a bamboo mat or a roller.
